Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be nearing a deal for Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie, as reported by the Croydon Advertiser.
The Advertiser states that a 'strong source' at Selhurst Park has revealed that talks between player and club are underway and that Bolasie is nearing closer to a move to White Hart Lane.
The
winger has been linked with a move to Mauricio Pochettino's side
throughout the summer and it is suggested that the Congolese
international will cost around £20m.
He has impressed hugely in the
Premier League over the last couple of seasons and drastically improved
his standing within the game with a quick fire 10 minute hattrick
against Sunderland last term.
He has quick feet, is an excellent dribbler and has the ability to unlock an opposition defence with a moment of magic.
The only thing going against him is his decision making can be poor at times. Former manager Neil Warnock once said of him: "I wouldn't want to play against Bolasie. He doesn't know what he's going to do next, so how can the full back?"
A
fair point indeed, but a hallmark of Bolasie's improvement over the
last couple of years has been his consistency. Where he used to fade in
and out games he now has more of a sustained impact and is far more
dangerous to the opposition as a result.
Spurs have also been heavily linked with West Brom's Saido Berahino and look set to tie up a £24m deal for the forward before the end of the transfer window.
With both Berahino and Bolasie in their ranks Spurs would look a far more frightening prospect. Add those player to the likes of Christian Eriksen, Harry Kane and new signing Clinton N'Jie and there is a young team with boundless potential.
