Fighters For The Future: Mayweather Promotions Is Preparing The Next Generation Of Pugilists

We live in a "participation" society. Parents, worried about their children's self-esteem, won't allow for a determination of "winner" or "loser". Instead, they think that by giving everyone a trophy, it makes everyone equal. Of course, there is an inherent flaw in that thinking. What about the superior child? What about the kid who can and should win, the one who is bigger, stronger, and more skilled, and just plain better? Should he or she have to be measured against everyone else, or should he or she be allowed to shine and become the best they can?

They get personal training and are properly motivated.
For boxing champ Floyd Mayweather, there are no participants. There's just a string of 48 previous opponents who he left downtrodden and defeated in the ring. It's an athletic philosophy that he applies to his life both in and outside the sport. It's also why he opens his gym to young, promising pugilists of all ages and why he sponsor's boxing camps for the kids. Instead of believing that they are part of some mass of mediocrity, Mayweather wants them to believe in themselves, and their abilities.

He may look cute, but his punches are lethal.
As you can see, both the superstar and his father work with these eager young ones. They teach them technique as well as health and wellness. They also instill in them a desire to be the best they can, to never accept defeat, and to always believe in themselves. That sounds a lot better than a piece of plastic on a marble base, doesn't it. Competition, when presented properly, can really help a child's growth and maturity. It's something Mayweather and his crew emphasize.

She clearly has a workout motivation beyond being one of the fit girls.

The results? The next generation of champions. Long after he's retired and done in the square circle, the name Mayweather will be remembered. Not just for what he accomplished as a boxer, but what he did as a mentor to the next generation of fighters as well.
